Things to do while you are still in Singapore
Packing all your essential items. Minimally, Passport, Cash of both country’s currency, Mobile Data (Roaming), Cash Card and the Touch‘n Go Card and vehicle details such as road tax expiry and insurance. Make sure you have it all prepared before setting off.
(At the time of writing, using VEP via RFID enter Malaysia is not mandatory additionally, you will still need a Touch’n Go card to enter Malaysia for the first time to then get the VEP.
We suggest either looking for a used card on carousell or purchasing one via entering Malaysia from Tuas Checkpoint.)
Ensuring that your vehicle is ready for the trip. If you are looking for a quick getaway, simply ensure that you at least have 3/4 tank of petrol and be sure to make a visual inspection of your vehicle ensuring nothing is out of the ordinary before proceeding. On a longer trip, we suggest having maintenance and all wear and tear done up before going to save you the trouble when your car breaks down.
Additional tip: We suggest that you beat the jam! Travel where there is less cars such as weekdays during off-peak hours.
